Brussels, 10 July 2017 – Last Friday, July 7th, the 16th edition of Brussels Beach launched under a bright summery sun. The first weekend was a huge success which allows the organizers to be very optimistic about the following weeks.
As soon as Brussels Beach opened, everybody was there to enjoy their drink, their lunch, the sun,… The decks were immediately taken over by the crowd, inviting the 39 merchants to a constant activity during the whole weekend.
At 5:30pm, the elected politicians walked through the site with a little walking orchestra and discovered all the new activities, bringing the attention and enthusiasm of the visitors.
Poetry and originality were the watchwords of the « Common Canal », the opening show performed by the « Ilotopie » company. Around 10:30pm, the audience came along the two docks and watched the meeting of creatures from another world, a mix between water and fire.
Different dance performances took place on the new Twist & Swing stages, allowing dozens of people to have fun on the dance floor.
The athlete type of persons gathered together on the new sports court that were busy all day long.
The « BRIDGE » was with no doubt the main attraction, offering the possibility to switch from a dock to another and to discover the Left Dock with its new set ups.
Big success for the « Archipel » as well, the new nightlife concept of Brussels Beach ! Friday and Saturday at 6pm, the free performances at The Bay had a wild success. The two following nights at The Club were sold out !
The « Archipel » has become one of THE places to be at night in Brussels.
The challenge of a complete new set up of the site was successfully carried out. The multiple efforts regarding the decoration of the event was critically acclaimed by everybody.
Until August 13th, Brussels Beach will be, as every summer, the meeting place of different cultures, colours and new trends. Diversity, the greatest asset of the Capital of Europe, is of course already part of this unique event !
